Ascending Scale

The theme of this project is the movement of people in public space. It consists of an interactive sound installation, which is controlled by the people moving up and down the stairs. Between the perception of the tones on the one hand and the effect of the people on the stairs on the notes/chord sequences on the other, a constantly changing individual interaction is created by the installation.

If several people are on the stairs at the same time, their social interaction introduces an additional factor and the sound composition mirrors their relationship, e.g., according to whether or not they walk in step, side-by-side or one after the other.
